Senior Cricket Teams

At Whiteley Village Cricket Club, adult cricket is more than just a game. It’s where memories are made and weekends are brought to life with the sound of leather on willow.

Whiteley Village features five Senior Cricket teams. So, whether you’re a seasoned player returning to the crease or someone who is looking for a fresh and fun way to stay active, we welcome cricketers of all abilities.

Reach out via our contact page or email wvcc@sky.com for more information.

Saturday 1st XI

Our 1st XI currently competes in the Surrey Cricket Championship, Division Six, on a Saturday. This team is a competitive side aiming to play high-quality cricket and push for honours.

Captain: Michael Cooke

Vice Captain: Terry Pope

Saturday 2nd XI

The 2nd XI team competes in the Surrey Cricket Championship, Division Ten. A competitive side which also looks to provide an environment for those that are aiming to improve their abilities and progress into the 1s. It is also a home for experienced cricketers that are not quite ready for the 3s yet.

Captain: James Adey

Vice Captain: TBC

Saturday 3rd XI

Our Saturday 3rd XI plays in Division 11 in the Surrey Championship Cricket League. A more relaxed side that provides a place for us to introduce our Colts into adult league cricket backed by some of our more mature members.

We pride ourselves in giving opportunities to our Colts from 12 years and upwards, and we don’t just put them at fine leg we give them a proper game. It is in this team where we have had many fathers and sons being able to enjoy the game together.

Captain: Peter Roberts

Vice Captain: Darren Heather

Sunday Friendly XI

Our Sunday friendly fixtures are hosted by home and away; they are perfect for players who want to enjoy the game without the full intensity of league cricket.

Captain: Michael Cooke

Vice Captain: TBC

T20 Sides

Competitive and energetic weekday evening side for those either not able to commit to the time required for weekend games or those wanting to top on their success (or forget their failures !!) from the previous weekend.

Captain: Bhupesh Gujela

Vice Captain: TBC

Over 40s

A slightly less energetic weekday evening friendly side for those either not able to commit to the time required for weekend games, or those still able to move after the previous weekends exertions.

We play matches against other local teams and have adapted the rules to keep the games fun and competitive. After the games, the social side comes alive and we encourage players to stay at the grounds (and maybe have a beer or two!).

Captain: Least injured player on the day!

Vice Captain: TBC
