At Whiteley Village CC, our ethos is ‘Cricket for All’. Developing young players, nurturing their love for the game and helping them to grow both on and off the field is one of our proudest traditions.
Whether you’re looking for a fun, active summer programme or wish to join a structured team, Whiteley Village has it all.
Our Junior section welcomes children from ages 5 to 17, with structured coaching, fun training sessions, and opportunities to progress into competitive cricket in a safe and supportive environment.

All Stars Cricket (Ages 6-11)
For our youngest cricketers, we run ECB-accredited All Stars cricket (for kids aged 6 to 8). This programme is designed to introduce kids to the basics of the game in a fun, engaging and inclusive way. Sessions are packed with games, laughter and plenty of physical activity, perfect for energetic young players starting their cricket journey.
Each child will receive a personalised kit and parents/guardians are encouraged to come and watch, or even get involved as volunteers! It’s a great way to build confidence, co-ordination and make friendships that often last beyond the cricket pitch.
All Stars Cricket will be returning to WVCC in 2026.
For more information about our All Stars programme, please get in touch here or email wvcc@sky.com .
Junior Teams (Under 9 to Under 17)

For cricketers who are either new to cricket, or have some experience, our Junior Teams play all season in structured age-group teams. We compete in local youth leagues and cup competitions, providing regular fixtures throughout the season.
Training is led by ECB-qualified coaches who focus on developing core skills such as batting, bowling, fielding and game awareness, all while keeping sessions enjoyable and engaging.
Currently, we run boys’ and mixed teams but we are always working to expand our girls’ cricket offering in line with the growing popularity of the women’s game.
We pride ourselves on our safe and inclusive club and welcome players of all abilities. To find out more about our Junior Teams, please get in touch here or email wvcc@sky.com.
Pathway to Adult Cricket
For those who show strong cricket skills and maturity, we offer opportunities to step up into adult cricket. Several of our current First, Second and Third XI players started in our Junior Section and we take great pride in supporting the progression of our cricketers who wish to do so.
Transition sessions, youth-adult friendlies and mentoring from senior players all help to make the step up feel natural and exciting.
Welfare and Safeguarding
At Whiteley Village CC, the welfare of our junior players is our highest priority. All of our youth coaches and volunteers and DBS checked and trained in safeguarding and first aid. Our Youth Co-ordinator works closely with team managers to ensure that every child is supported, safe, and having fun.
We foster an inclusive environment where every child, regardless of ability or experience, feels welcome and valued.
If you would like to know more about Whiteley Village CC’s Welfare and Safeguarding, please reach out through our contact page or email email wvcc@sky.com.
Training and Coaching Schedule
Our Junior training runs on Thursday 6:30pm – 8:00pm for U9s to U17s through the cricket season (May-August).
Saturday morning invitation sessions (10:30am – 11:30am) are also organised with the first team coach to help develop the transition to senior cricket and improve the skills of the higher performers.
Parents are kept up to date with schedules, fixtures and results via email and Whatsapp.
We also offer indoor training over the winter months, known as Winter Nets, to help players stay active, refine their cricket skills and stay connected to the club year-round.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are always on the look out for volunteers to help the club thrive! Whether you’re a parent, a player, or an aspiring coach there are multitudes of ways you can volunteer. No knowledge of the game or experience is needed.
Some volunteer opportunities include scoring, admin, coaching, umpiring, events etc. If you would like to volunteer, please reach out through our contact page or email wvcc@sky.com.
